The most common of stones
Intense pressures and high temperatures within the earth cause limestone to metamorphosis into what we recognize as Marble. The extreme conditions alter its crystalline structure and introduce other minerals that produce colors and veins highly valued by consumers.
Commercially, any stone capable of taking a polish (with the exception of granite) is known as marble. This includes travertine, onyx, serpentine and limestone.
Marble can be used for kitchens, bathrooms, fireplace surrounds, tabletops, and any other surface finish you can think of.
